Bridesmaid Dresses in London, Ontario

Choosing bridesmaid dresses is one of the more difficult parts of wedding planning! You are dressing several people of different heights, shapes, and comfort levels in one colour and one look, often while they live in different cities and on a timeline that has to work for everyone.

If you are looking for bridesmaid dresses in London, Ontario, we would be glad to help you work through it.

The difficulty with standard sizing

When you order several dresses in the same style from a rack, each one is made to an average size rather than to the person wearing it. Some of your bridesmaids will be happy with the fit. Others will need alterations, usually arranged separately, paid for separately, and often close to the wedding date.

That is where the frustration tends to come from, and it is the reason many brides start looking at custom dresses instead.

Custom bridesmaid dresses, made to each person

At La Rose we design and make bridesmaid dresses from scratch to each person’s own measurements. The same design, the same fabric, and the same colour, made individually so that every dress fits the person wearing it.

We are a custom dress house first. Along with our custom wedding gowns we make bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride dresses, flower girl dresses, prom dresses, graduation dresses, and formal occasion wear, all designed with style, fit, and attention to detail. Our boutique is in Komoka, just minutes from West London, Strathroy, and Mount Brydges.

Our formal dress collections

Our formal dress collections start from CA$265 and are made to your measurements. Each one can be fully customized in design and colour.

  • Soft Tulle Dress Collection. Romantic, dreamy, and feminine, made from scratch to your personal measurements and fully customizable.

  • Pure Chiffon Dress Collection. Light and soft, a lovely choice for warm weather and outdoor weddings.

  • Luxury Satin Dress Collection. A smooth, polished finish that holds its shape beautifully.

  • Elegance Velvet Dress Collection. Richer and heavier, well suited to autumn and winter weddings.

You can choose from our existing designs or bring your own inspiration, and we will create dresses that reflect your vision, whether softly poetic, bold and whimsical, or elegantly understated.

Choosing your bridesmaid dress colours

Colour is usually the first decision and the one that takes the longest to settle. Visit our shop to see our sample dresses and explore over 150 colour options and premium fabrics. Because we make the dresses rather than order them, you can choose the shade you want rather than the closest one available. If your gown, your florals, or your venue have already set a direction, we can work to it.

There are a few things worth thinking about before your consultation. Consider how the colour will look in your venue’s lighting rather than on a screen, whether it suits everyone in your party, and how it will sit beside your flowers. If we are creating your wedding florals as well, we can plan both around the same palette in one conversation.

Mismatched bridesmaid dresses

Mismatched bridal parties have been popular for several years now, and they work best when something ties the group together. The two most common approaches are one colour across different necklines and silhouettes, so each bridesmaid wears a shape that suits her, or one silhouette across several tones within the same colour family.

Because every dress we make is designed individually, either approach is straightforward for us. We can vary the neckline, sleeve, back detail, and skirt shape across your party while keeping the fabric and colour consistent.

Sizing across your bridal party

We do not carry a standard size range or a separate plus size range. Every dress is made to the measurements of the person wearing it. For a party with a range of heights and shapes, this is usually the main reason brides choose custom. Everyone wears the same dress, and everyone gets their own fit.

When to order bridesmaid dresses

We recommend starting six to eight months before the wedding date. A custom dress order takes about four months to be made from the date the order is confirmed, and that leaves time for the consultation, production, fittings, and final adjustments across the whole party.

For select designs we also offer a rush order option with an approximate two month timeline. Rush orders are not accepted less than three months before the event date.

One practical note. Gather everyone’s availability before you book. Measuring the whole party in one or two visits is much easier than arranging separate appointments for each bridesmaid.

5 stars are not enough. Catherine and her team are amazing.

What bridesmaid dresses cost at La Rose

Our formal dress collections start from CA$265. Pricing depends on the design, fabrics, and level of detail involved, and our formal dresses typically range from $300 to $800.

Who pays for the bridesmaid dresses

There is no single rule here. Some brides cover the dresses, some ask their bridesmaids to buy their own, and many split the cost in some way. Whichever you choose, it helps to decide before the consultation rather than after the measurements are taken, so that everyone knows where they stand.
